JOE BOYD
LEAD PASTOR
LEAD PASTOR
Joe Boyd joined the staff of LifeSong in the spring of 2013 as our Worship Leader, bringing with him experience and background including children's ministry, youth ministry, and worship ministry.
"My first role in ministry was touring as a member of a Christian rock band," he shares, "which allowed me to experience first hand the truth that people can encounter God in some of the most unexpected places - regardless of the name on the building or in no building at all."

Throughout his career and while following the leading of the Holy Spirit in his life, Joe has served in ministries across the United States. He has preached, taught, or led worship in a variety of churches including American Baptist, Nazarene, Brethren in Christ, Assembly of God, Lutheran, and Non-denominational; he has also led worship and shared the message of the gospel at countless inter- and non-denominational venues and events.
"I've never been comfortable with the idea of one denomination having it all figured out - because the truth is, none of us have it all figured out. That's what makes LifeSong so different, so special: we come from many different backgrounds, we can agree to disagree, and we can still have meaningful conversations about all of those things while living out our faith together. We are united by the one thing that unites all believers, regardless of denomination - the truth of who Jesus is and the price He paid for our forgiveness."

During his first 5 years at LifeSong, Joe served alongside other pastors who not only helped him dive deeper into his calling, but also helped him to develop a deeper love for the people of the church, our city, and Marshall County. In 2015, Joe became a licensed pastor of LifeSong Ministries and received his ordination in early 2018.
"I also don't get caught up in titles or credentials. The bottom line is that all of the experience and knowledge I have is a direct result of God directing my path. I'm no better or different than anybody else - this is just how God chooses to use me. My goal is always to use the gifts and talents He has blessed me with to help people understand Him better, and along the way, for us to experience the love of Jesus and the power of the Spirit together."

Joe transitioned to the role of Interim Pastor in October of 2018 and was officially installed as Lead Pastor in February 2019.
"I'm looking forward to a long and amazing future at LifeSong. We are a real church for real people, and no matter who you are, you belong here."
